This exclusive day is observed as the World Environment Day  by the United Nations. First incorporated in 1974, this day is dedicated towards creating awareness on environmental issues like global warming, ozone layer depletion, and desertification. Every year, there is a new theme and a designated host country to carry out the official events around the theme. This year the theme of World Environment Day is: Ecosystem Restoration.

Few Vital Points to remember for maintaining a healthy environment:

  • Every citizen should pledge to keep their environment absolutely clean and dirt-free.
  • They should not cut down the trees; in fact, they should grow more numbers of plants which will grow into trees someday and thus maintain the environment eco-friendly.
  • Other simple ways to help the environment include – use recycle bags; use mini paper bags instead of plastic bags.
  • Ensure to use and biodegradable products like glasses, paper, plastic or metal.
  • Save electricity and water.
  • Use reusable beverage containers.
  • Avoid taking cars whenever possible.
  • Grow vegetables and fruits.
  • Use rechargeable batteries.
  • Quit smoking.
  • Pick up the unwanted things from the road, if u notice, & throw them in dustbin.
