The selected Indian team flies over to West Indies for their upcoming test series. Host West Indies will play against India for 4-test match series from 21st July to 22nd August, 2016. The Board of Control for Cricket in India [BCCI] stated last Thursday that the tour to Caribbean land would be of 49-days in total.

Before the start of 4 test matches, India will be playing two warm-up matches, in order to get ready to give their best against West Indies. The test series will be lead by Virat Kohli, the captain of 17-member Test Squad. Indian team has been decided by BCCI already.

Test Matches

First test starts at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, in Antigua from 21st July, and Second test at Sabina Park, Jamaica from 30th July. The Third test match will be held at Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, St. Lucia from 9th August, and Fourth test will be hosted Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad and Tobago from 18th August.

According to WI Cricket Board’s [WICB] head of operations Roland Holder, “The four venues in West Indies are well-organized for the test matches against Indian team.”

BCCI informed on Wednesday that Indian team led by Virat Kohli is anticipated to leave for West Indies on 6th July along with new coaching staff.

Indian Team for West Indies Tour

As MS Dhoni retired from test career, the selectors have decided to select Wriddhiman Saha for wicket keeping. The opening will be done by Murali Vijay, and Shikhar Dhawan. KL Rahul will be considered a reserve opener. Indian team spinners are R Ashwin, Ravidra Jadeja, and Amit Mishra. The pacers of the team involve Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Shardul Thakur. The all-rounder of the squad will be Stuart Binny. Mohammad Shami has been asked to join the team for test series after a long time.

Batsman Suresh Raina was not selected by the Indian cricket selectors for WI tour as he was unsuccessful in finding his place in the Test side against West Indies.
