Star Plus is launching a new concept drama series, named Naamkaran from today. After dragging the popular Diya Aur Baati Hum for five long years, this daily soap came to an end finally on 10th September. Now Naamkaran will take the 9 pm time slot from 12th September and will be telecast from Monday to Sunday on Star Plus. It is a great relief as the audiences can view a fresh series, titled Naamkaran and enjoy watching it.
Naamkaran is a Hindi romantic-drama TV series, written, produced and directed by Mahesh Bhatt (Indian Film Director, Producer and Screenwriter), under the banner of Gurudev Bhalla and Dhaval Gada Productions. The lead roles played by TV actors and actresses in this show include model-actor Viraf Patel, and actress Barkha Bisht. This drama concept is inspired by 1998’s Zakhm movie, based on life of Mahesh Bhatt, though few changes have been made in the show.
Storyline of Naamkaran
The story of Naamkaran has been conveyed from the perspective of a little girl Avni. Though Ashish Mehta, a Hindu (played by Viraf) has a wife (played by Sayantani), he also got married to a Muslim girl, Asha (played by Barkha). Ashish loved Asha immensely and had spent some romantic moments too. Asha gives birth to a baby girl, Avni. When Avni (played by Ashween) was a little girl, her father leaves her and her mother. This show revolves around the struggle of Avni, the sweet girl, fighting for her legitimacy caught between orthodox Hind family and Muslim society.
Naamkaran is a very unique story, basically on a 10-year-old girl, Avni, on her relationship with her mother and father, her grandmothers (Dadi and Nani), and her friends. Asha (mother) goes through lots of difficulties, but she is very happy with her life, no complains, as her daughter loves her mom a lot, and supports her. Though the mother has to face lots of questions from the society people, being alone without her husband, she manages the situation really well and makes her move silently.
Her daughter Avni tries to cheer up her mother in every way possible. Avni feels that although her father is not with them, she and her mother can enjoy the small moments merrily. Avni becomes the angel of her mother’s life. Asha is a very strong lady, fighting against all odds. Reema Lagoo will be seen playing a strong character in Naamkaran.
Overall, the concept of Naamkaran is amazingly exhibited to the audience.
