The excellent goal by Eder assisted Portugal thrash over France by 1-0 goal as they win their main tournament for the very first time. Substitute Eder’s wonderful finish in extra time locked the Portugal’s first championship title after they crossed over the quick loss of Ronaldo to grab the 1-0 to turn victorious on Monday, 11th July. Finally the Portugals won their much-awaited Euro championship, and credit goes to Eder. The underdog Portugal is surely the top dog, as they bravely pull through from Ronaldo’s injury with Edger’s super goal in the extra-time.

The dreams of host country are shattered, and at the same time Portugal defeating them, have already become the exciting favorites. Portugal has defeated all odds, sans their captain and talisman, and also Christiano Ronaldo getting injured unfortunately, thus winning the Euro football tournament. The sudden goal was made in the extra time by Edger. Though he flopped at Swansea City, still Eder turned out to be a hero as he put off Laurent Koscielny to strike Hugo Lloris with a strong low shot delivered from 25 yards.

Poor Final Performance by France

The dreams of France shattered of winning the finals on their home ground for the third consecutive time with a gloomy jerk. They gave a poor performance for the final match. After going through 50 matches, gaining 107 goals and over 2.3 million viewers across 10 hosting cities, the final destination was reached from the day it all started on 10th June when France defeated Romania. Gradually over the month, the confidence level of France touched higher level, mainly after the victory in Semi-Final against Germany. Their team rose with more expectations as France lead towards their goal of final destination; but sadly they couldn’t offer a single goal.

This final is the first ever of Euro UEFA that went goalless past an hour. It was a very tense match for both Portugal and France who fought against each other to give a goal as soon as possible.  France’s Coman created a difference again. Giroud [France] though got his opportunity and gained more strength in the shot, Portugal’s Patricio prevented it again. Lastly Portugal gathered their efforts on focusing the target along with Lloris [France] tearing out Nani’s [Portugal] sidetracked cross and further grasping Portugal’s Quaresma’s sharp kick before Patricio [Portugal] outshined again by throwing himself to force out a crunchy drive straight from 30 yards distance by France’s midfielder Sissoko.

As the noise from the spectators roared tremendously, one more chance was there just before extra time along with substitute Andre-Pierre Gignac [France] twisting agilely, from Coman, crossways to craft space, followed by scraping a shot which hit Patricio [Portugal] but mortared the near post. When extra-time started, Pepe [Portugal] burst a header hardly before free-kick happened by Guerreiro [Portugal] punched the bar off along with Lloris [France’s goalkeeper] beaten. Portugal just sprang with Edgar’s striking goal. Team Portugal finally won one of 7 matches just in normal time, but they stood as real champions.
