January 26 is celebrated as Republic Day. This year is the 73rd Republic Day as the country remembers the martyrs who have led their lives for the independence of the country so that India will be at a better place altogether and continue to achieve success and new heights. The Republic Day will start with PM Narendra Modiji’s speech, followed by the parade followed by tableaux followed by air-crafts flying, and orange/green/white balloons flying in the sky. The whole process is held from Vijay Chowk on the road towards Red Fort.

The 73rd Republic Day parade is having 21 tableaux, comprising 12 from selected states and union territories, and 9 from several ministries. Because of the short time and Covid-19 protocols, only 21 tableaux have been chosen for the parade. The tableau belongs to Meghalaya, Haryana, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Goa, Karnataka, Chattisgarh, Punjab, Maharashtra, and Jammu and Kashmir.

The marching contingent of the Indian navy consists of 96 personnel and three platoon commanders led by one contingent commander, shaping a total of 100 personnel this Republic Day. The Navel tableau is in continuance of Combat Ready, Credible and Cohesive.
Also, on the Republic Day parade, the Indian army presents a mounted column of cavalry, 14 mechanized columns, six marching contingents, and a flypast by progressive light helicopters of its aviation wing. The mechanized army columns exhibit one PT-76 tank, one Centurion tank, two MBT Arjun MK-I tanks, one OT-62 TOPAS armored personnel carrier, one BMP-I infantry fighting vehicle, and two BMP-II infantry fighting vehicles.

The evening of Republic Day (26 January) will cover PM Modjiji honoring the winners of the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Apda Prabandhan Puruskar (instituted in 2018), for contribution to the fields of disaster risk management.
