West Indies created a brilliant history by becoming the first nation to win ICC World Twenty20 two times with a remarkable four-wicket triumph over England in Eden Garden stadium, Kolkata on Sunday, 3rd April. WI’s Carlos Brathwaite batted superbly with four consecutive forceful sixes in the last over of the innings.
In the year 2010, West Indies defeated Sri Lanka at the finals of 2012 ICC World Twenty20, and again in 2016, they conquered over England at the finals of 2014 ICC World Twenty20.
Chasing a delicate target of 156, it was Marlon Samuels who hit splendid 85 not out off 66 balls with nine boundaries and two big sixes. M Samuels is declared the Man of the Match. As soon as the match ended, the West Indies team members rushed towards the field to congratulate the heroes. The whole stadium of crazy audiences was cheering for West Indies exceptional win against England.

It was one of the superb sights as WI women’s team too joined their men as they jointly danced to the popular Bravo Rap of “Champion”. They even took a “lap of honor” from Eden Garden which gave them a standing ovation.
History was also created when West Indies women’s cricket team ended 3-time defending champions Australia’s domination by becoming the victor in ICC World T20 title with vigorous eight-wicket win in the final on the Sunday afternoon.
