All the football lovers across the world can get ready to watch the outstanding UEFA Euro 2016 held in France. It is also referred as UEFA 2016 European Championship, or Euro 2016. UEFA has arranged the grand and exclusive UEFA European Championship [15th edition], the international quadrennial men’s championship of Europe from June 10 (12.00 PM PDT) to July 10, 2016. Crazy fans can’t take off their eyes from their favorite team’s excellent performances on the football fields. They will cheer aloud, cry in excitement, and wave their team’s flags enthusiastically. Spain has been two times’ defending champions till now.

Since 1996 till 2012, the competition of EURO football was between 16-teams, but for the first time in 2016, it has been expanded to 24-team format. The qualified 24 teams for UEFA Euro will play the football matches against their opponents in France. The finalists under this new format will challenge a group stage comprising of six groups of 4 teams, further tracked by a knockout phase involving 3 rounds, and final match at the last to win the trophy.

The nineteen teams, the two top teams from each of 9 qualifying groups, and also the best 3rd placed team connected with France (host). In November 2015, there was a series of two-legged play-off ties that was held between the left over third-placed teams, thus choosing the last 4 spots on the final tournament.

France selected as the Host for 2016 Euro

A bidding process took place where France defeated Italy and Turkey to be selected as the host on May 28, 2010 for the year 2016 finals. It was during 1984 and 2000 that France won European Championship two times, and this is the third time France is hosting the Euro tournament. The winning team of 2016 Euro tournament receives the right to content at FIFA 2017 Confederations Cup that will be hosted by Russia.
