You should also focus on a few Holi safety tips mentioned below.

  • For Your Skin: Apply a skin toner on your face to close the pores. You can also use a moisturizing cream before leaving home to play. You should also moisturize your skin well, including arms, hands, body, and legs, for keeping your skin hydrated. Coconut oil and natural ingredient-based moisturizers are fine options. You should also apply sunscreen before venturing out. After Holi fest, take a proper bath but evade from using excess soap that can dry your skin. But please don’t play gulal/colors if you’re allergic to sensitive skin.

  • For Your Hair: You should put coconut oil on the whole of your hair before play, and also pin it with a butterfly. The oil prevents distinct colors from coming in direct touch with your hair and scalp, thus lowering the damage. When you return home after playing, wash your hair with plain water only and use a mild shampoo. No worries as the color from the hair will go away easily. Avoid washing your hair twice on the same day. Don’t attempt pre-lightening or highlighting your hair before and soon after Holi.

  • Other Significant Safety Tips: Keep your eyes open and look around. Stay away from dirty water, grease, tar, mud, etc. Don’t run on wet floors or slippery areas as you may slip and fall, and hurt yourself. Don’t wear your lens and go to play Holi as the lens easily absorbs colors and bothers your eyes. Also, avoid wearing specs on Holi occasions. While taking out colors, you can utilize soap along with warm salt water. For a more moisturizing effect, you can add drops of baby oil to it. If you still have extra color on your hair, the next day of Holi, you can go for a hair spa or hair oil treatment that will assist the dry scalp recover moisture. You can even book for deep cleaning of the face at the parlor for cleaning pores which are clogged with colors.
