Earlier known by its name as Ras Abu Aboud Stadium, it has acquired a new name – Stadium 974, the 7th venue tournament ready for the 2022 World Cup.

The new name Stadium indicates the number of shopping containers utilized in the development process and 974 is the international dialing code of Qatar. Stadium 974 also indicates its location as an entryway to Qatar, nearby Hamad International Airport, Doha airport, and Hamad port.

Design – The venue of Stadium 974 Qatar has a unique design carved with innovation and splendor. The construction of this stadium is erected de-mountable completely in the record of football’s international tournament. Stadium 974 completion is followed by Khalifa International, Al Janoub, Education City, Ahmad Bin Ali, Al Bayt, and Al Thumama for the upcoming World Cup starting from 21st November 2022.

Because of the stylish design executed, the Stadium 974 bowl evades the requirement of AC as the ventilation all around is very much natural. The structure of the stadium is built from recycled steel, while the water ratio assures that it will lessen the water usage by 40% in comparison to the conventional stadium building. The main contractor of this stadium has been HBK Contracting and the Project Manager – TiME Qatar.

Total matches to host – Stadium 974 will be hosting 7-matches adequate to round 16 stages during the World Cup Qatar 2022.

Stadium 974 hosted Arab Cup Games from Nov. 30 till Dec. 18, 2021

Stadium 974 recently hosted Arab Cup games with its first match on November 30th with UAE vs Syria match. The tournament ended on December 18th. The stadium capacity of 40,000 audiences staged a total of six matches, covering the first semi-final match and third-place play-off match.
