On Mahalaya, the first day 12th October, Goddess Durga is invited with prayers and rituals on the earth, and this day her beautiful eyes are crafted on the idols on an auspicious ritual known as Chokku Daan. The Goddess is believed to come down on earth during the crafting of her eyes on the idols.

On Panchami, 18th October, Goddess Durga is welcomed to the pandals, along with Lord Ganesh, Lord Kartikeya, Goddess Laxmi, and Goddess Saraswati in amazing colorful dresses. Durga Puja Pandals Go Eco-Friendly

Most of the Durga Puja pandals will be constructed eco-friendly, as they won’t use harmful forces such as synthetic paints, plastic materials, thermocol, and metal. They would rather prefer to utilize biodegradable materials including clay pots, recycled mesh paper, hay, jute decorations, etc. This festival represents the success of goodness over evil, and the makers of Durga Puja idols are attempting to respect and be responsible for the integrity of nature. Even WiFi facilities are offered in the pandals for the visitors.
