- Rann Utsav: Rann Utsav in Kutch dessert is worth visiting as the grand dessert festival reflects upon the vivacity of the region’s heritage and culture. Since few years as Rann of Kutch is promoted a lot, the Kutch dessert has turned to be hugely crowded and commercial too. The days of Rann festival are packed with music and folk dances, handicrafts, adventure sports, various delicious food stalls, and expeditions to nearby places. Visitors can enjoy their stay in luxurious tents placed in the white salt desert.
Where and When: Great Rann of Kutch (salt desert), Dhordo, Gujarat; November 1, 2017 – February 20, 2018. It’s just amazing to view moon shining dazzlingly on the salt [especially on 14th November, 14th December, 12th January, and 11th February].
- Pushkar Camel Fair: Pushkar Camel fair is a traditional festival where approximately 30,000 camels are shaved and nicely dressed, and brought to the desert town of Pushkar. These camels participate in beauty contests, race, parade, and are also traded.
- Pushkar Balloon Festival: This fest is a 3-day International hot air ballooning festival that is an additional fascination at Camel Fair Pushkar. This feat includes hot air balloons from across the world followed by Night Glow Music Concert. Visitors are also provided balloon flight packages.
Where and When: Pushkar, Rajasthan; October 28 to November, 2017.
- Ganga Mahotsav and Dev Deepavali: These festivals are organized on the holy banks of the Ganges which comprises of classical dance and music. Millions of people light clay lamps and float them on the Ganges in evening on the last day by chanting Vedic hymns celebrating Ganga Mahotsav and Dev Deepavali.
Where and When: Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh; October 31-November 3, 2017 (Ganga Mahotsav).
November 3 (Dev Deepavali).
- Rajasthan Kabir Yatra: This wonderful festival showcases Sufi poetry and music and power of Bhakti that intends to endorse communal harmony and peace everywhere. Well-known artists from Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, Kutch, and Malwa and also from Rajasthan will be seen performing their best. This fest would also add beautiful works of painters, photographers, and sculptors stirred by Sufi-Bhakti folklore.
Where and When: Bikaner and nearby villages in Rajasthan; October 25-29, 2017.
- Annual India Surf Festival: This annual festival is an eco-friendly celebration which offers an innovative platform for surfing, along with dance, music, photography, art, early morning beach yoga, and other distinct workshops varying from long-boarding to stand-up paddle kind of boarding.
Where and When: Ramchandri Beach, Lotus Resort, Near Puri (Odisha); November (Dates to be confirmed).
- Chandrabhaga Fair: It is the occasion of Kartik Purnima when pilgrims take a dip into the Chandrabhaga River. The cattle fair is a huge one where cows, buffaloes, bullocks, horses, and camels are on sale. Even cultural events are arranged greatly by Rajasthan Tourism.
Where and When: Jhalawar (Rajasthan); November 3-5, 2017.
- Guru Nanak Jayanti: The occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti is celebrated in Punjab in honor of Guru Nanak’s birthday, mainly at Golden Temple in Amritsar. It is magnificent to view the enlightened temple. The holy book of Sikhs is carried outside the temple in a big procession, with drummers and music too.
Where and When: Amritsar (Punjab); November 4, 2017.
- Children’s Day: Children’s Day is a tribute given to the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru as it is his birthday. This day is celebrated for the children with cultural kids’ events and programs and activities.
Where and When: Across India; November 14, 2017.
- Sonepur Fair: Sonepur Fair also occurs on the banks of River Ganges where many numbers of devotees along with elephants dip in holy water. Even elephants are traded on the fairground. Shops are set up for selling different kinds of commodities.
Where and When: Sonepur, 25 km from Patna (Bihar); November 16 – December 15, 2017. On Kartik Purnima, 4th November, devotees dip in Ganges River during sunrise.
- Bundi Utsav: Bundi Utsav starts with a procession which also includes traditional rural sports, classical/folk music, arts and crafts fair, cultural exhibition, and dance and music program with many fireworks in the evening. Turban completion is also held during Bundi Utsav.
Where and When: Bundi (Rajasthan); November 17-19, 2017.
- International Film Festival of India (IFFI): IFFI showcases Indian cinema of distinct languages to people who come to watch them on all the ten days.
Where and When: Goa; November 20-28, 2017.
- Matsya Festival: This festival exhibits Rajasthani heritage and beautiful cultural. It also consists of sports, songs and dances, folk music, and exhibitions and competitions.
Where and When: Alwar (Rajasthan); November 25-26, 2017.
- Meet Thyself Yoga Retreat Fest: It is a 7-day enthusiastic retreat that offers people with yoga, meditation, spiritual lectures, spa treatments, kirtan, kayaking, and also tasty vegetarian Indian foods in one of Goa’s superb beaches.
Where and When: Riva Beach Resort, Mandrem Beach (Goa); November 28-December 3, 2017.
- Taj Balloon Festival: Hosted by Sky Waltz in union with UP Tourism, the Taj Balloon festival is the most awaited one where hot air balloonists from 15 countries across the world will enjoy in the sky. People can rejoice the live music performances in the evening under hot air balloons.
